What the course covers

Six modules, delivered over twelve weeks

01
Script and Phonology
Reading Modern Standard Arabic with sufficient speed for professional documents. Covers the 28-letter alphabet, vowel markers, and common ligatures found in contracts and reports.
02
Professional Vocabulary
Around 600 terms drawn from finance, logistics, and trade sectors. Vocabulary is introduced through authentic business texts, not isolated word lists.
03
Written Correspondence
Formal email structure, letter openings and closings, and the register differences between Gulf and Levantine business writing conventions.
04
Meetings and Negotiation
Spoken Arabic for structured meetings - agenda phrases, turn-taking, expressing disagreement politely, and closing agreements in formal Arabic.
05 - 06
Sector Contexts and Assessment
Module 5 applies prior skills to a chosen sector - energy, retail, or public procurement. Module 6 is a structured review with a practical assessment: drafting a short proposal and conducting a simulated negotiation call.
Language progression - written correspondence
Before Module 3 "Dear Sir, I write to you about the contract. Please reply."
After Module 3 Formal Arabic opening, correct honorific, structured body with numbered points, and a closing that matches regional convention.
